10 Tips For Sensitive Skin

Dear Friends,
Sensitive skin is a common condition which means your skin is more prone to reactions such as redness and itching. Most people who have sensitive skin notice occasional or frequent itching, burning, and stinging of patches of skin. One of the most common skincare issues clients come to see us about is sensitive skin. You can start desensitizing your skin right away by implementing some simple adjustments.

SENSITIVE PEEPS: A TOP 10

1. No hot water, no cleaning the face in the shower. Cold water only.

2. Too many exfoliators will be overstimulating and have adverse effect. Retinols do not belong in the same routine as P50.

3. Absolutely no textured or grainy products. No rice powder, salt or sugar scrubs.

4. Try to avoid face powders. Your skin needs to breathe and they’ll make the skin dull. Let a little natural oil develop to keep things hydrated. If it’s too much, just dab oily areas w paper.

5. Protect your skin in extreme weather be it hot or cold.

6. Replenish the skin after sun and wind exposure. Sleep in a thick cream like Masque Vernix.

7. Don’t cleanse the skin more than twice a day.

8. Try to stick with one or two at the most skincare brands. Most brands have a product line in which the formulations work together for a better end result. You won’t know what’s working if your routine is all over the place.

9. What you eat can exacerbate sensitivity and redness. Some of these foods and drinks may include: alcohol, hot drinks and spicy foods.

10. Don’t obsess. Just breathe.
